Loan World Selects Whaleback CrystalBlue Voice Service—Over a Network Provided by Bright House

Cable Operator Refers Loan World to Whaleback for Business Telephony Service; Whaleback Channel Partner KableLink Installs and Activates CrystalBlue

TAMPA, FL, October 24, 2006—Whaleback Systems™ today announced that Loan World has selected the CrystalBlue Voice Service™ for enterprise-wide telephony communications. Loan World, which had already selected Bright House Networks for high-speed data-over-cable services, was referred to Whaleback by Bright House.

Loan World is a Tampa-based loan originator that needed a reliable, high-quality voice service that could be expanded to support Loan World’s corporate growth. Ken Stess, vice president of corporate and business development for Whaleback, said, “Cable operators need reliable partners that can help them fulfill the market need to provide broadband telephony services to small and medium businesses. Whaleback offers the CrystalBlue Voice Service and Bright House commercial customers can select a high-quality telephony service and have it delivered over a voice-only broadband connection provided by Bright House.”

Loan World evaluated PBX platforms, but didn’t want to incur the capital costs of acquiring a PBX and the operational costs of managing it. “Bright House referred us to Whaleback and CrystalBlue was a perfect solution for our telephony needs,” said James Deschamps, manager and owner of Loan World. “We didn’t have to purchase a PBX and phones and worry about unloading an outdated piece of equipment in a few years. Instead, we selected a managed service and don’t have to worry about telephony—it just works. Whaleback manages the service and equipment, and we can easily add new phones as our business expands.”

The installation, service activation and training was managed by KableLink Communications, an established contractor to Bright House and now a Whaleback channel partner. KableLink also provides first-level support for the solution. “We’ve been helping Bright House with commercial installations for years, and Bright House introduced us to Whaleback and we found out the many advantages of a managed telephony service over a high-quality cable infrastructure,” said John DuBois, CEO of KableLink. “When Whaleback came to our office and showed us how to get the service up-and-running in minutes we couldn’t believe how easy the installations could be.”

KableLink was so pleased with the CrystalBlue Voice Service it will become a user. KableLink has ordered CrystalBlue over a voice-only Bright House cable connection for its office.

Loan World provisioned a voice-only cable connection from Bright House, and KableLink installed the Whaleback SMB 1500 IP PBX and Executive IP Handsets in less than an hour. “The installation was swift, and voice quality is excellent,” said Deschamps. “We’ve only begun to take advantage of the productivity features on the phones, and Whaleback’s CrystalBlue Voice Service is a win-win-win solution.
