OrcaServer IP PBX

The Whaleback OrcaServer IP PBX manages and controls calls for Whaleback customers. The system contains advanced PBX software providing all of the telephony capabilities needed for the CrystalBlue Voice Service. It is remotely monitored and managed by Whaleback Systems from our central Network Operations Center to ensure continuous service and maximum call quality. Software updates are performed centrally periodically to add new features and capabilities, and the OrcaServer provides integrated security and high availability features and collects a variety of call data statistics. 

The OrcaServer IP PBX transports voice signals over broadband cable or DSL connections via native SIP trunks to drive down recurring bandwidth charges. Unlike IP Centrex and alternative IP PBX solutions, the OrcaServer is premises-based and software-driven to: 

  • Simplify system management
  • Enhance call quality
  • Optimize network performance

It is deployed by a Whaleback channel partner at a customer location and connected to the Ethernet network. The OrcaServer offers linear, pay-as-you-grow scalability.

The OrcaServer is an IP PBX that also features unique Key System Unit emulation functionality such as shared and bridged line appearances, intercom with hands-free response and group paging.
